William P. Kelly

Bill Kelly co-founded the Firm in 1996. Bill has recovered millions for New Yorkers. A proven master at handling all phases of complex litigation, one of his greatest strengths is pre-trial preparation. As a result of meticulous preparation and organization of every case, Bill obtains maximum recoveries for his clients. Bill is currently representing homeowners and business owners in the Sandy Litigation, seeking insurance coverage for those damaged by Superstorm Sandy. Bill's recent successes include a $1.5 million settlement for a USPS mail carrier in the Bronx injured when she fell on ice while delivering mail, $1 million settlement for a NYCTA motorman in Brooklyn injured when a truck crossed the double yellow line, $2.55 million settlement in Brooklyn for a retired nurse run over by a Parks Department truck, a $1.5 million settlement at trial for a Queens woman struck by a car due to a missing stop sign and a $1 million settlement for a Brooklyn woman struck by a police car. Bill recently achieved a stunning victory in federal court wherein he recovered $975,000 at trial for a Manhattan man injured by a drunk driver on New Year's Day 2005. Bill brought suit against the driver and a well known bar/restaurant and established through the testimony of police officers that the bar violated New York law by serving alcohol to a visibly intoxicated patron. Bill's expertise also extends to intellectual property, licensing and commercial litigation. Recently, Bill successfully represented a group of investors in a fight over the profits from the Oscar-nominated movie Super Size Me.  Bill was born in Rockaway, Queens, home to many firefighters, police officers and trade union members. Bill has been sought out to represent members of the FDNY, NYPD and trade unions who suffer personal injuries both on and off the job. The Firm set up the telephone number (212) BRAVEST so members can get answers regarding injury claims. Bill also assisted the three FDNY firefighters who raised the flag at Ground Zero in creating The Bravest Fund charity. Bill worked with the Office of the US Postmaster General to make the famous image into a US postage stamp that raised millions for emergency relief efforts and accompanied the FDNY firefighters to the White House. Bill is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School, The College of the Holy Cross, a member of the American Association for Justice and admitted to practice in the US District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of New York, the District of Connecticut, the First, Second and Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, as well as the state courts in New York and Connecticut.

"It's gratifying to be in a position to help injured people because they are at such a disadvantage in the legal system. The litigation process is a complicated and unknown world to most people and it's very important that they feel confident and secure with their attorney." —Bill Kelly
